Sneak a peek at the new themes
by Steve Testone on July 2nd, 2009

The new update to the themes application is almost ready and it has a lot of new features that I'm pretty excited about. With the new theme application you will have more control over your theme, you'll be able to save multiple themes so you can easily switch back and forth, and your website should load about 10X faster and be more compatable with mobile browsers. Along with major update to the application itself, I'll also be adding a few more theme templates to work with. Here is a quick preview of the new templates.

You mention making the themes more compatible with mobile browser - I guess you're talking about the general lack of Flash support in those.

It would be great to also see the other Flash elements get alternative, HTML based solutions. In particular I'm talking about the link buttons, images with effects and contact forms.

Yes, I'm mainly talking about the flash support. The buttons and header will now be in html and the image effects and contact form will most likely be converted shortly after as well.

Steve, really excited about the new theme update and I think the conversion to html is a particularly welcome one. Keep up the great work.

I don't see any other way to leave ask a question so I thought I would try leaving one here.

Does snap pages offer any email addresses? I am hoping to bring a client over to snappages but the major concern right now is how will they get emails. Their current webserver has given them a certain amount with their domain name.

Does snappages offer this.

So far I have only built a trial version of a site but I love what you have working here.

We don't currently offer email addresses, but if they have existings ones, they should still work. Since you just point the a-record for the domain name to SnapPages all the email stuff can stay where it is.

Also in the future if you need help you can also check out our forums or the help desk. Both can be found in the help center in your control panel.

Nice job! I especially like the 2nd theme - but all are great in their own ways!
I'm also looking forward to how Snappages develops. Great product and has the edge over competitors in my mind!
