The New Photos App is Here!
by Steve Testone on August 16th, 2010

The new Photos app is finally here and it's live on the site for everyone to enjoy. The Photos app is one of our most popular tools but it was in need of a serious update because it was almost 3 years old and we've had a lot of requests for new features over the year. I've tried to incorporate as many of your suggestions and wishlist items as I could.

There are so many new features in this app that it's hard to know where to begin. The most obvious features you'll notice right off the back is the integration with other social networking sites that we've added directly into the app, but the more you use the app the more you'll see that just about everything in the app has been greatly improved.
3rd Party Integration
Now if you have photos stored on Facebook, Flickr, or Picasa, you can import them directly into your SnapPages photo library by easily dragging and dropping the photos from one album to another. When you connect with one of these 3rd party sites, all your albums from the other site will show up right alongside your SnapPages album. You can click on the albums and view the photos directly from the Photos app, and even drag them to and from the albums to import them to SnapPages or export them back out to the 3rd party site. Yes, it's as easy as it sounds!
Improved Photo Editing
The new Photos app comes with completely new photo editing features so that you can crop, adjust, and enhance your photos all online. This gives you all the power of professional photo editing software right on SnapPages. We've even include a new red-eye removal tool and a "save-as" feature so you can save a copy of your edited photo while keeping the original.
And Much More...

  • Faster - Everything about this app is faster from imports to edits
  • Improved photo imports
  • Upload GIF and PNG images to use on your site
  • Separate library for "graphics" so buttons and icons don't mix with photos
  • Preview photos in the new 3D photo wall
  • Reorder album photos from the main library window
  • Improved tagging engine
  • Optimized thumbnail zooming in library
  • Redesigned UI to fit with other apps
  • Photo edits now apply to source images
  • Simpler album creation
  • and more...

This is all well and good, but how do you get your photos to actually show up on your website on the photo gallery page????

I am a professional photographer. I found very difficulty in managing the photos. I think this photos app will be beneficial for me.
