Tracking your Website's Traffic
by Ryan Courtney on April 8th, 2016

Ever wish you could find out more information about the people who visit your website? How they get to the site? How long they stay on each page? If so, I have good news: you can actually do this very easily by using a free service called Google Analytics.

Setting up Analytics

At this point, you may be thinking that this sounds like a complex process - it's really not! To integrate Google Analytics into your site, just follow the 3 simple steps below:

     1) First, you will need to sign up with Google Analytics (completely free). To do so, click ‘Sign
In’, and then select ‘Google Analytics’ from the drop down menu. From the next page, click
     ‘Sign Up’

     2) Fill out the form with your website’s information and click ‘Get Tracking ID’ at the bottom of
the page once you’ve completed the form. On the next page, copy the ‘Tracking ID’ provided
     by Google

     3) Finally, log into your SnapPages account, click the ‘Settings’ tab, and select ‘Plugins’. From
there, click ‘Google Analytics’ and a box should pop up. When prompted, enter the Google
tracking ID that you copied earlier into the ‘Tracking ID’ field and click ‘Save’
That’s it! To view your site’s traffic information, just access your Google Analytics account and click the ‘Reporting’ tab at the top of the page. Please keep in mind that it may take 24-48 hours for Analytics to begin compiling your site's traffic data.
Google Analytics is a very powerful program that will allow you to learn a great deal about the people visiting your site (where they come from, how they get there, etc.). If you’re having trouble figuring out how it all works, I suggest visiting the Google Analytics FAQ. There are also many free resources out there (videos, tutorials, etc.) that you can use to help learn more about Google Analytics.
If you have any issues setting up Analytics with your website, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Great information! I was a little confused with my traffic but this helped a lot. I visited the Google Analytics FAQ you linked to which helped me the most.
